Nordtveit...
Hasn't had a very good start at the club...and many including myself have been critical and doubted his quality based on prior performances.

At Pool he had an OK game after a slow start when Liverpool got their first goal following confusion down our right.

However not many have commented on his long ball to Antonio that set up our second goal...with a bit of help off the nogging of the Pool player.

Well done Havard...keep up the good work.

We need your best form down the right...

Yes it was a sublime pass to Antonio

Re: Nordtveit...
Just need him to do a job for the next 4 games. Stop getting sucked into midfield. I fully expect a top right back to come into on Jan 3rd. Disappoint if not.

Good post, Tex.

I think he's got great character. Gives110%.

Hope he can pull through and make it with us.

Unlike other fans, we WANT him to succeed, Tex.

Re: Nordtveit...
The lad has clearly got it in his locker, he captained a top 4 Bundesliga team last year. Unfortunately, he became the early whipping boy, has been played out of position since and has struggled. He actually played well against Bournemouth at home in his proper position.

I'd prefer to judge him after a consistent run in central midfield, but most have already made up their minds.

Re: Nordtveit...
Thought he poor, went missing and at one point was alongside Reid in the centre of our defence leaving the right totally exposed. If he meant the ball to Antonio then it was a positive. I am hoping he has still got some sort of rep in Germany where he can be sold in Jan.

Re: Nordtveit...

He's not a RB, is he?

Although he does say in this interview that he can handle a number of positions, DM is what he was brought in for:

Yes, I have a working knowledge of Norweigan. Gutted?

Oh, and he's the best paid Norweigan footballer ever.

After what he did against Spurs, he needs to do something pretty fucking special to win me back over

Re: Nordtveit...
I disagree.

He's one of the worst players I have seen in our colours since Gary Breen.

Yesterday I watched him make three terrible mistakes within one five minute spell.

First he misplaced a simple 10 yard pass to Antonio, kicking it straight out for a throw in when he was under no pressure.

Then he went to sleep and found himself in no man's land leaving Winjaldum completely unmarked. They put an easy pass into the space where Nordveidt should have been and Winjaldum was one on one with Randolph.

And then two minutes later he hit a simple forward pass from the middle of the pitch into the only part of the pitch where there were no west ham players. It rolled straight to the Liverpool keeper.

Added to the stupid penalty at WHL I'm not sure what this boy has to do to get dropped. He is absolutely terrible. He has no pace, he runs like a gangly giraffe, his only tackling method is sliding in (hence the penalty at WHL), he cannot pass to save his life and his first touch is abysmal.

Are you sure you are talking abut the same player?

Never wrote him off and hoping that if he gets a run of games in his proper position he will come good.

Oh, yes, a brilliant pass. Off the "nogging" you say?

Nogging: a horizontal piece of wood fixed to a framework to strengthen it.

You plank.

I noticed those gaffes too.
Can only assume it's due to acute lack of confidence. He can't be *that* shit surely?

Infidel

He's not a right back. What's your job?

I bet if we got you a job as a sheep farmer, you'd struggle to.

At least he's giving 100%. That's more than many in our team.

Nicey 9:34 Mon Dec 12
Re: Nordtveit...
Like most players playing at the top level for some time he is obviously a good footballer

You have to look at other factors. Is he settled, does he for the style, how is his confidence and so on

Alex Bunbury 9:37 Mon Dec 12
Re: Nordtveit...
He has struggled but has been chopped and changed a number of times and never given a settled run in the team. On top of this he has had to adapt to a new culture playing in a team full of under performing players. The Tottenham error will require a lot of character to come back from but I thought he did ok on Sunday in what is a problem position for us. Looks like he will be in the side for the upcoming games so a big opportunity for him to redeem himself.
